Texas Tanel 98 - July 2011

Texas Tanel 98 is composed of 10 seventh graders from different areas within Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas and is based out of Texarkana. They're on the field from February through November playing ASA, USFA, USSSA and invitational tournaments and they're scheduled to play in the 2011 World Series in Florida.

Texas Tanel coach is June Atienza. Four of the girls are pitchers and five play catcher. All of them are utility players that can put a glove on and play any position. They have speed and bats and whether they are on the top or bottom of the lineup, bats are going to pop.

These girls have ben playing together for the past three years and although this will be their last year in 12U, they will continue on together as a 14U team next year. They love the sport and understand the dedication that it takes to make it on a team that believes in friendship but also loves the winning part that comes along with it. Their motto is “Try to have fun, whether you’re winning or losing. Otherwise, there’s no point in playing.”
